The beautiful Jitpur Village (Gaon)

History of Jitpur', was known as 'Winner' where dominated Limbu communities campaign for fighting for their areas and land in ancient even medieval era; there was a tradition of an arranged fight during Phagupurnima or Ramnawami fairs in March/April every year till the 1990s. Jitpur used to be known as Dhukuti of Ilam (main source of rice), very fertile land with full of teraces of paddy fields with ample irrigation facilitated and hard working Jitpure people. These days, Jitpur is one of the popular areas for quality product of green-tea, ginger, broom and black cardamom. Jitpur Village Development Committee (VDC) lies right in the middle of Ilam district. The Jitpur VDC has neighbouring Mangalbare VDC on North, Sangrumba VDC on the East and Sidhithumka VDC on the west. It is border with a small stream called, Lewa khola (stream) with Mangalbare VDC. It consists of nine wards, with a central office in ward number 4, Nawami where a 10 plus 2 school and a few retail shops are allocated. Jitpur is accessible with a gravel motorable road with bus services in the winter and 4x4 taxis even monsoon seasons. It takes about 2 hours drive from Ilam and 3–5 hours on foot. This village has varieties of integrated communities of Rais, Magars, Limbus, Tamangs, BKs, Tailors, Giri, Bramans, Kshetris and others together. Dholedevi in ward number 1, Jhyaupokhari, Ajambare Danda, Linding,Maikhola fulungi area,Katle bhanjyang,Shiwalaya 4, terraced-paddy fields, orange and cardamom gardens, tea gardens and a large tea factory named Mist Valley Tea Industry Pvt. Ltd. Are the majour attraction of Jitpur Village.
Aces: There are mainly three routes to reach Jitpur. Among these routes if we prefer to use vehicles, we can set off from the district headquarters and reach Jitpure Bazaar, Nawami Bazzar through Nepaltar, Deumai Municipality Gagrebhanjyang Mangalbare Panitar and Jitpure. But in the winter we can start our trip from Golakhark Bhanjyang of Ilam to Panchami Bazaar to Jitpur, through Puwakhola Satake Bagar, Masar of Sangrumba Ratekhola and Gorkhi Gaun and visiting Falgunand Manghil temple. Besides this, we can also reach Nawami bazaar from Birtamod of Jhapa, through Khudunabari, Danabari, Chisapani to Soyak ,Namthala of Siddhithumka and Jitpur of Ilam. We can also reach there on foot from Sangrumba to Jitpure Bazzar to Piplibhanjyang using the motorable road; or from Golakhark Bhanjyang Sangrumba of the headquarters, through Jhapa Danawari, Mahamai Fulungi to Lingding and then using the road Damak to Larumba Mansebung to Fulungi to Jitpur. It takes (40 km) three hours to reach Jitpur from Ilam bazaar
