Cash Crops of Ilam District
Sur name of Ilam is '7A' that refers the good Agro-production such as
potato, Chilly, Milk, ginger, broom,
Archid, Authoodox tea, local name 'Lokta' is used to make Nepali paper is
exported in Japan to make Japanese paper money. High altitude herbs are sold in
India. Tea is exported to India, Germany, Britain, France. Broom is old in
India. Kabi and Aboo cardo are farmed. Flowery culture is developed as a part
of agriculture.
Tea Garden
Farmers in Ilam has built up the gardens of tea. It is the beauty spot in hill side with green graceful gift of the nature, the landscape of those gardens are very attractive for all. Kanyam tea, Soktem tea, Ilam tea, chilimkot tea, Jasbire tea and other private tea gardens are remarkable. 12 tea factories produce green tea, authodox tea, herbal tea, black tea, are famous in Ilam. Picnic spot five forest and play-grounds are other facilities attractions of these areas.

Cow farming in Ilam
Cow farming is a source for generating income of Ilam
District, peoples use to sell the milk on market maximize benefits and survive
their lives. Ilam is an agricultural district there are lot of possibility in
cow or dairy farming. Demands of grass feed dairy products are increasing
rapidly in the world, if we export dairy product then earn billions of rupees
each year, but there are only few commercials dairy farm started in Ilam.

Red Chilli farming in Ilam
Ilam district is also famouse for red round chilli, most of farmer product red chill (Akabare Khursani in nepali) it is one of the hottest spices in the world. It is grown and widely used in Nepal as flavoring for the preparation of daal and curries. It is particularly popular for use during the cold winter months.
