Arubote is tiny village of Suryodaya Municipality, in ilam district, in the Mechi zone of eastern Nepal. It lies about 30 minutes walk from the Phikkal Bazar, and approximately an hour and a half drive from Ilam Bazar. It is is a beautiful village with Rai, Limbu, Bramhan, Chhetri settlement, surrounded by organic tea farm. It has chilly cold during December and Janaury, cloudy in monsoon, warm in September to November. The tiny village warm welcome to provide all visitors providing wonderful home stay facility.
The accommodation is simple but comfortable with good bedding as well as clean toilet facilities. You can local organic food sitting on the floor, a guest is served at first, the female host will not eat until everyone else has finished, food (dal bhat) served limitless with a lot of chilly snacks, If you are interested, you can also learn how to cook nepali food (Dal Bhat), mo-mos, curry etc. Depending on the home stay, you may sleep in the same room as the family, or share a bathroom with them. Even if your door is shut, people will enter without knocking, which could wonderful experience during the visit in Arubote Village.
During the stay, you will have to chance observer Rai, Limbu culture and tradition. You do short hiking around the village having homemade delicious milk tea, participate plucking organic tea leaves, visit cow farm, local cheese production. The village is very clean, peoples are very friendly. Most of the villagers might be invite and welcome green tea.
